Yesterday on practice class we continue with the exercise that we had began last Monday which consist on verbal tenses. When we finished that exercise we started with a listening called energy efficient houses. Then we prepare the final project. My group is composed with two classmates called Rafa and Juan. We decided that we are going to explain the textile fibers.

Today, on Tuesday, we have worked with a new teacher because Ana had a very important meeting. We have done some exercises about letter writing from page 184 to page 190.
On the second part of the class we have done an exercise of unit 4. That exercises will be corrected the next week on Tuesday.

The last Monday firstly I saw my note of the first exam. It was very good and I'm quite satisfied. Secondly we finished the practice 6 in which we saw two videos. The video called Babies at work I had done it last week, but I had to do Rover south works. When I had finished that video and its exercises I did a listening called energy efficient houses which belongs to practice 7.

Then the teacher explain us some words and its definition:

• Reprieve: no hacer clemencia
• Boast: alardear
• Hefty profits: important economic benefits, important profits
• Outstanding: most significant than others
• Withdrawn: to retire, no change our mind
• Number of redundancies: number of unemployed, nº de desempleados
• Shortage: escasez
• Facilities: instalaciones
• Encourage: to promote
• Wages: salaries
• Skilt workers: well trained workers

At the final of the class we did a little exercise about verbal tenses.

Telephoning

The last Monday we did the sixth practice which consisted on telephoning in english. In that practice we learned some aspects like:

• Introducing yourself

• Asking for someone

• How to reply when someone is not available

• Asking who is on the telephone

• Connecting Someone

• Taking a message

Then we did some exercises about telephone conversations.

On Tuesday we started the new unit called Busines. Firstly we did a small exercise about branding and brand names, and secondly we created a rank of motor-cars, food, beer and new technologies.

At the final of the class we did a brief exercise about letterwriting.

On monday on practice class we did the practice 4 which consisted on handling questions effectively and asking questions.
Then we did a practice about computers. We answered some questions finding information into the web and then we saw that two videos:

• In the first video a man explains how to change a RAM memory. You only have to remove the old memory pulling the slides of the old memory and then introduce yhe new ram memory.
• In the second video the previous man explain how must a good computer been. The processor must be the capacity of 2 GHz, the RAM a minimum of 512Mb. The size of the screen must be 1024x708, Tha hard disk must have a capacity of 80Gb. Also could have DVD reader and wireless network.

On tuesday we did the listening called a computer system and then we did some exercises about the reading.
On the letterwriting we did a little comparison about two different letters.
At the final of the class we did a role play in pairs where I was the shop assistant and my classmate was the customer which wanted to buy a new computer.

We work with an erasmus student

The last monday we began with "aula practice 3" in which we had to find information about our speciality and done a brief summary:

• Textile fibres are done in three stages: first of all the fibres are spinned into yarns. Then the fibres are woven or knitted into fabrics and the last stage is made products. Cotton or linen are natural fibres which provides from plants; but wool and silk provides from animals.

• The main synthetic fibres are Viscose, Acrylic, Polyester and Nylon.

• Polyester or nylon microfibres are 60-100 times finer than a human hair and if you bend that fibres with others you can change the properties about the final product.

• There are two types of woven fabrics: Plain-weave and Twill-weave.

• There are two types of knitted fabrics: Weft-knitted and Warp-knitted.

• Non-woven fabric is made by bonding or felting.

• Modern and smart fabrics are designed to maximise characteristics.

On the second part of the class we saw a video about the oral presentations. Then we also did an exercise about vocabulary.

On tuesday we worked in groups of three students in which we had an erasmus student. I worked with Duygu.
Firstly we did a brainstorming about computers and then we did a listening called "What computers do".
On the second part of the class we worked with the fotocopies about letter writing. First some students read their letter and then, in groups, we did an exercise which consists in done a leeter, booking a car for a travell.

Finishing the practices 1, 2 and the Unit 1

The last Monday in the language laboratory we presented our speciality. That work belongs to practice 1 but we haven't did it yet. We spent the first part of the class on that exercise.
In the second part we did the practice 2 which consists on relative clauses. Firstly the teacher did an explanation and then we did some exercises.

On the theory class, on Tuesday, we have finished the Unit 1, called materials.
Firstly we have done a listening comprehension, then a lecture about iron and steel, and finally we have done an exercise about the composites.
In the last minutes of the theory class some students have done an oral presentation about how to do something and the steps to follow to develope that action.
Some students also have read a letter that we had to do like homework.

For the next week we have to buy the practice 2 and the Unit 2.

The last monday we did the first practice class which was about defining our speciality. We had to search information in the web.
Then in the first laboratory practice we saw a video that explained how to do an effective oral presentation and some points to follow like use natural language or use pauses.

On tuesday we had the first theoric class. That class was divided on two parts. On the first part we worked on Unit 1 which was divided in a brainstorming about the engineering materials, reading techniques, reading and vocabulary, and the first part was a listening about materials, particulary metals.
The second part was about how to make a letter writing to present a complaint or your curriculum.
We saw some different parts like heading, presentation...

The first day

The last tuesday I went to the first day of my year of english.
The first day the teacher who is called Paloma presented us the subject. She show us the list of different topics, and the method which she evaluates the pupils. She also speak us about the blog that is like a diary when we had to write about the things that we do in class.
Then she asked about our preferences. I prefer to speak in class to improve my oral expression.

And finally we did a welfare questionare in that we answered some questions.
